Description

France / Bordeaux / Saint-Émilion The 18th-century château is located directly on the border with Pomerol. As a novelty for the region, the red wine is made with a very high proportion of Cabernet Franc. Due to the iron-rich gravel and sandy soil over clay, this variety achieves a ripeness here unlike anywhere else in Bordeaux. Château Cheval Blanc has consistently been awarded the highest distinction "Premier Grand Cru Classé A" in all classifications to date (some even rank it higher) and enjoys the same reputation in Saint-Émilion as Château Mouton-Rothschild in Médoc. The Château's Grand Vin is considered an icon, a unique, unmistakable wine, sought after by wine lovers all over the world and therefore difficult to obtain. With the 2016 vintage, Cheval Blanc was awarded 100 Parker points for the second consecutive year.
