One of the great wines of the vintage is the 2019 Cheval Blanc, a stunning young Saint-Émilion that exudes aromas of wild berries and plums that mingle with hints of lilac, pipe tobacco, violet, raw cocoa, licorice and crushed mint. Full-bodied, layered and enveloping, it is deep and intense, with wonderfully rich, powdery tannins and vibrant flavors. With its long, salty finish, it rivals the 2016 as the best Cheval Blanc of the decade and can in many ways be considered its sun-kissed cousin.

Château Cheval Blanc This 18th century château is located in the commune of Saint-Émilion on the right bank of the Gironde and has been awarded the highest distinction of “Premier Grand Cru Classé A” in all classifications to date (some even place it above this) and has the same reputation in Saint-Émilion as Château Mouton-Rothschild in the Médoc. As a novelty for the region, the red wine is made with a very high proportion of Cabernet Franc. Due to the iron-rich gravel and sandy soil on clay, this variety achieves a ripeness like nowhere else in Bordeaux. Château Cheval Blanc is best known for its special label, which depicts a leaping white stallion and has become a symbol of excellence and prestige in the wine world. The Château's Grand Vin is considered an icon. A unique, unmistakable wine that is coveted by wine lovers all over the world and is therefore hard to come by.
