The 2017 Cheval Blanc reveals aromas of plum jam, blackcurrant jelly, kirsch and red roses, as well as nuances of anise, Sichuan pepper, pencil lead and charcoal. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers impressive intensity with complex red and black flavors with accents of minerals and floral notes, as well as a firm line of fine-grained tannins and great freshness that support the very long and very fragrant finish.

Château Cheval Blanc This 18th century château is located in the commune of Saint-Émilion on the right bank of the Gironde and has been awarded the highest distinction of “Premier Grand Cru Classé A” in all classifications to date (some even place it above this) and has the same reputation in Saint-Émilion as Château Mouton-Rothschild in the Médoc. As a novelty for the region, the red wine is made with a very high proportion of Cabernet Franc. Due to the iron-rich gravel and sandy soil on clay, this variety achieves a ripeness like nowhere else in Bordeaux. Château Cheval Blanc is best known for its special label, which depicts a leaping white stallion and has become a symbol of excellence and prestige in the wine world.
