The wines of Château Latour

The Grand Vin Château Latour embodies the classic power of Pauillac like few other Bordeaux wines, combining concentration with remarkable precision.

Typical aromas include cassis, blackberry, black cherry, cedar, tobacco, graphite, violet and fine spices. With age, complex nuances of leather, truffle, cigar box and pencil lead develop.

The enormous structure of the wines is characteristic. In youth, many vintages appear powerful and closed. Among the great Médoc wines, Latour is often the one that requires the longest maturation. With age, however, it develops exceptional depth and complexity. Great vintages can mature for several decades, often for half a century or more.

Alongside the Grand Vin, Château Latour produces “Les Forts de Latour”, one of Bordeaux's most renowned second wines, from around 40% of the estate's vineyard holdings. “Pauillac de Latour” is the third wine, representing around 30%.

Thanks to its combination of historic terroir, uncompromising quality philosophy and exceptional consistency, Château Latour is regarded as a benchmark for great Pauillac red wine and one of Bordeaux's most important Premier Grand Cru Classé estates.
