Der Grand Vin von Château Mouton Rothschild zählt zu den berühmtesten Rotweinen der Welt. Im Vergleich zu anderen großen Pauillac-Weinen zeigt er einen besonders ausdrucksstarken und opulenten Stil. 

Typische Aromen umfassen reifes Cassis, Schwarzkirschen, Brombeeren, Veilchen, Zedernholz, Zigarrenkiste, Graphit und orientalische Gewürze. Mit zunehmender Reife entwickeln sich komplexe Nuancen von Trüffel, Leder, Kaffee und dunkler Schokolade.
