Description

France / Bordeaux / Médoc / Pouillac

In the early 1980s, Philippine de Rothschild decided to revive an old tradition and planted a few hectares of the vineyard in the Médoc with white grape varieties. The sandy, gravelly soil was planted with Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Sauvignon Gris and Muscadelle. The Aile d'Argent is made from these grape varieties, named after a fairy tale that Baron Philippe de Rothschild invented for his daughter Philippine. The hero of the fairy tale was the teapot Aile d'Argent (Silver Wings). Although the Aile d'Argent is only produced in very small quantities, it has set standards for lovers of fine Bordeaux white wines.

Château Mouton Rothschild

Château Mouton Rothschild In the sun-drenched Pauillac region of Bordeaux, where the Gironde River elegantly carves its way to the Atlantic Ocean, lies a winery that has woven itself into the legend of wine. The name Château Mouton Rothschild, one of only five Premier Cru estates in Bordeaux, is spoken with reverence by wine connoisseurs around the world. The eventful history of Château Mouton Rothschild is as rich and complex as the wines it produces. The transformation of the estate from a modest vineyard in the early 18th century to its current status as a Premier Cru reflects the rise of its great wines. However, it was only under the visionary leadership of Baron Philippe de Rothschild that the château truly became a beacon among Bordeaux's châteaux. Château Mouton Rothschild cannot be properly described without delving into the world of art. Since 1945, each vintage of Mouton Rothschild has been adorned with a unique label designed by renowned artists. Picasso, Chagall, Warhol and many others have dedicated their artistic talent to these labels. This tradition not only emphasizes the aesthetic appeal of the wine, but also acts as a visual representation of the character of each vintage. The unmistakable style of Mouton Rothschild is a tribute to the Bordeaux tradition, where finesse and structure are in perfect balance. At the same time
