The wines of Château Haut-Brion

The Grand Vin of Château Haut-Brion ranks among the world's greatest red wines. Typical aromas include blackcurrant, plum, cigar box, graphite, leather, smoke and spices. Particularly characteristic is the often-described smoky note that many tasters regard as Haut-Brion's unmistakable signature.

The wines possess exceptional depth and continue to evolve over decades. Great vintages can mature for many decades and rank among the most sought-after collectors' wines.

Alongside the Grand Vin, the château produces a second wine, “Le Clarence de Haut-Brion”, which offers earlier access to the house style. The neighbouring Château La Mission Haut-Brion belongs to the same ownership family and together the two estates form one of Bordeaux's most important centres of quality.

The château's white wines also command particular attention. “Haut-Brion Blanc” is one of France's rarest and most sought-after dry white wines. Its combination of concentration, freshness and longevity makes it an icon of French wine.
