Pessac-Léognan
William Kelley for Robert Parker
The 2020 Haut-Brion is more aromatically demonstrative than the La Mission Haut-Brion, bursting with aromas of blackberries and raspberries that mingle with licorice, cigar paper, pencil shavings and well-integrated new oak. Full-bodied, lush and fleshy, rich and layered, with an enveloping core of fruit surrounded by plenty of sweet, powdery tannin. Although it has a similarly high alcohol content to the 2019, its grainier tannin profile tempers the fruity sweetness of the vintage and gives the wine a more classic and structured profile
