Climate

Historically, Languedoc-Roussillon describes a large Mediterranean region. While Languedoc is more characterized by limestone slopes, coastal winds, and a wide variety of grape varieties, the neighboring Roussillon – at the foot of the Pyrenees – often features sun-intensive, spicy red wines and surprisingly salty white wines.
