Description

France / Bordeaux / Saint-Émilion

The 18th-century château is located directly on the border with Pomerol. As a novelty for the region, the red wine is made with a very high proportion of Cabernet Franc. Due to the iron-rich gravel and sandy clay soil, this variety achieves a ripeness here unlike anywhere else in Bordeaux. Château Cheval Blanc has received the highest distinction "Premier Grand Cru Classé A" in all classifications to date and enjoys the same reputation in Saint-Émilion as Château Mouton-Rothschild in the Médoc. Since 1988, the winery has produced a second wine, Le Petit Cheval Blanc, which immediately captivated wine lovers. Its precise fruit and wonderful balance are characteristic.
