Description
Description
The 18th-century château is right on the border with Pomerol. As a novelty for the area, the red wine is pressed with a very high proportion of Cabernet Franc. Due to the iron-rich gravel and sandy soil on loam, this variety reaches a ripeness like nowhere else in Bordeaux. Château Cheval Blanc has been classified with the highest distinction "Premier Grand Cru Classé A" in all classifications (some even put it higher) and has the same reputation in Saint-Émilion as Château Mouton-Rothschild in the Médoc. The Château's Grand Vin is considered an icon, a unique, unmistakable wine, coveted by wine lovers around the world and therefore difficult to come by.
