Barolo is one of Italy's most celebrated red wines, originating from Piedmont in the areas around Barolo, La Morra, Serralunga d'Alba, and Monforte d'Alba. Produced from 100% Nebbiolo, it is known for combining power and elegance: firm, fine-grained tannins, fresh acidity, and immense depth.

Typical aromas include rose, violet, cherry, tar, herbs, and with age often truffle, leather, and tobacco. Barolo is rarely an easy-drinking wine – it is a wine for food and/or cellaring. Depending on the style (e.g., more fragrant and round vs. more structured and austere), it may be enjoyable early or truly blossom only after several years. Perfect with beef, game, braised dishes, and truffle pasta.
