Description

Italy / Friuli-Venezia Giulia / Friuli Isonzo Rive Alte

The Gallo family has been closely linked to viticulture for over 100 years. Gianfranco, who has been running the family winery since 1978, has established himself as the grand master of white wines from Friuli. Gianfranco Gallo exclusively produces single-vineyard wines with an extremely high quality standard. His wines are among the absolute best. Due to the low temperatures, the 2019 harvest year was lower in quantity than the high-yield year 2018, but the quality of the grapes from the individual vineyards of the Vie di Romans winery was impressively good. Another year with ideal conditions for the Burgundy-style Chardonnay from one of the most experienced and quality-conscious wineries in Italy.

This purchase marked the beginning of a family tradition that would last for generations, with each member bringing their unique expertise and passion to the art of winemaking. Today, Damilano is run by the fourth generation of the family, continuing the custom of producing wines that remain true to both tradition and an innovative approach. This balance between tradition and modernity is the hallmark of Damilano's success. The estate has an impressive array of vineyards in the most sought-after locations in the Barolo wine-growing region. Each vineyard is meticulously tended with the utmost respect for the terroir, as the family is convinced that great wines are made in the vineyard. Respect for the land of the Langhe is the basis of the family's sustainability concept. At Damilano, the winemaking process is
