Riserva Cannubi 2016
Description
Description
Italy / Piedmont / Barolo / Cannubi
The grapes for this Barolo come from the renowned single vineyard Cannubi. For over 300 years, this small ridge northeast of the municipality of Barolo has been considered one of the best vineyards in Piedmont. Only a few winemakers are allowed to cultivate the micro-parcels of the Cannubi cru, and since 1935, the Damilanos have been among the chosen few. The name for their Barolo Riserva comes from the oldest surviving bottle from this cru, "Cannubi 1752". Since 2008, the Damilano family business has been producing its Riserva Cannubi "1752". The Nebbiolo grapes come from a sustainably managed parcel of only two hectares, planted with 30-50-year-old vines. Only a very few bottles of this wine are bottled each year.
