Description
The Dillon family consider Quintus to be their fifth child, alongside the red and white wines of their Châteaux Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. Since the Romans, the creators of the Saint-Émilion vineyards, had the habit of naming their fifth child Quintus, Clarence Dillon renamed the winery Château Quintus. A bottle shape designed specifically for Quintus was also introduced, based on the bottle shapes used by Château Haut-Brion in the mid-19th century. One of these antique bottles was recently excavated in a pirate cave on the Indian Ocean island of Mayotte. Like its predecessors, a raised seal was engraved into the glass.
