Lisa Perrotti-Brown for Robert Parker
Deep purple-black in color, the Quintus 2018 rolls sensually out of the glass with very pure, perfumed notes of lilac, lavender, plum jam and chocolate-covered cherries, giving way to notes of spice cake, cardamom, fenugreek and fragrant earth, as well as a hint of unsmoked cigars. The full, rich, seductive palate offers layer upon layer of fragrant black fruit and spicy nuances with a firm but soft frame and plenty of freshness to enliven the long finish. Beautifully done.
