Château La Clotte 2014
Description
Description
The vineyard of the extensive Château La Clotte estate is among the oldest in Saint-Émilion; Clotte means "small cave." In 1931, the talented winemaker Georges Chailleau inherited the Château and transformed it into one of the most prestigious estates in Saint-Émilion. Since 2014, it has been owned by the Vauthier family, who also own Château Ausone. They have breathed new life into the winery and significantly improved the quality of its wines. Château La Clotte is still an insider tip among Saint Émilion wines. Many bottles can be found in the wine cellars of fellow winemakers in Saint-Émilion. This is completely understandable given its price-performance ratio and the opulent, mineral-driven style of the wine. The 2014 vintage is the first under the cellar management of winemaker Pauline Vauthier.
