Château La Clotte Grand Cru Classé 2016
Description
Description
The vineyard of the extensive estate of Château La Clotte is among the oldest in Saint-Émilion; Clotte means "small cave". In 1931, the talented winemaker Georges Chailleau inherited the château and transformed it into one of the most prestigious estates in Saint-Émilion. Since 2014 it has been owned by the Vauthier family, who also own Château Ausone. She breathed new life into the winery and significantly increased the quality of the wines. Château La Clotte is still a real insider tip among the Saint Émilion wines. Many bottles are in the wine cellars of fellow winemakers in Saint-Émilion. Completely understandable given this price-benefit ratio and the opulent, mineral-influenced style of the wine.
