Château La Clotte 2016
Description
Description
The vineyard of the extensive Château La Clotte estate is one of the oldest in Saint-Émilion; "Clotte" means "small cave." In 1931, the talented winemaker Georges Chailleau inherited the Château and transformed it into one of the most prestigious estates in Saint-Émilion. Since 2014, it has been owned by the Vauthier family, who also own Château Ausone. They have breathed new life into the winery and significantly improved the quality of the wines. Château La Clotte is still a real insider tip among Saint-Émilion wines. Many bottles are found in the cellars of fellow winemakers in Saint-Émilion. This is completely understandable given the price-enjoyment ratio and the opulent, mineral-driven style of the wine.
