Joachim Heger is the third generation to run the family winery together with his wife Silvia. It is a qualitatively very ambitious VDP.Weingut that cultivates its vineyards in the absolute top locations of the Kaiserstuhl. Among the Kaiserstuhl private wineries, it is the winery with the highest proportion of terraced and steep slopes. The rocky soils, with their low water holding capacity and the resulting deep-rooted vines, form a good basis for unique, salty and mineral wines. Those under the name of Dr. Heger bottled wines are world class. For years, the Burgundy winery has been awarded a five-star world-class winery by Gault Millau.
