Country doctor Dr. Max Heger founded the winery in 1935. His son Wolfgang Heger brought it to the top class of German wineries in the 1960s. Today, his son Joachim Heger runs the business together with his wife Silvia. The Ihringer Winklerberg, one of the world's most famous locations, is of volcanic origin. Extremely steep, hot and stony, it offers optimal conditions for the production of expressive terroir wines. The wines are characterized by a characterful, delicate minerality and subtle finesse. The latest knowledge in terms of ecology and plant care, sowing and organic fertilization brings out the terroir even better.
