M. Chapoutier is one of the defining names of the Rhône and is known worldwide for top wines with a clear, terroir-driven signature. The house, led by Michel Chapoutier, has for many years consistently embraced organic and biodynamic viticulture – from simple Côtes du Rhône to great single-vineyard wines in Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, Cornas, Saint-Joseph and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The focus is on varietal, authentic wines that precisely reflect origin, soil and vintage. Syrah produces profound, spicy red wines with dark fruit and firm structure, while Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and other varieties deliver complex white wines, often with remarkable ageing capacity. The Rhône is divided into two distinctive parts: the northern Rhône, with steep terraces and a cooler climate, and the southern Rhône, with Mediterranean warmth and wide plains.

In the north, Syrah dominates, producing powerful, spicy red wines.

In the south, blends are the focus, above all Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, ranging from juicy and spicy to powerful and complex.
