Description

The family winery Egly-Ouriet is one of the pioneers of "Grower Champagnes" and is now considered an absolute benchmark among artisanal top producers in Champagne. Located in Ambonnay – one of the most renowned Grand Cru villages in the Montagne de Reims – the estate cultivates approximately 12 hectares according to biodynamic principles, with the utmost precision from vine to bottle. All wines are spontaneously fermented, mostly aged in wood, stored for a long time on the lees, and minimally dosed – they show depth, origin, and a clearly defined signature.

The grapes come from old Grand Cru vineyards in Ambonnay (70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay). Spontaneously fermented, partly in oak barrels (10-15% new), the wine matured for 96 months on the lees. Dosage only 1 g/l – a clear Extra-Brut style.

Origin in Focus

Champagne

Champagne in north-eastern France is the home of the world’s most famous sparkling wine. The cool climate, limestone and chalk soils, and a long tradition of bottle fermentation shape its unmistakable style: tension, finesse and characteristic minerality. The main grape varieties are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier.
