Description

"Les Prémices", meaning "first fruits" or "first yield", is Egly-Ouriet's new entry-level cuvée. It comes from approximately 3.5 hectares of old Grand Cru and Village plots in Trigny and was spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks, then aged on its lees for 36 months. Dosage is a moderate 1-2 g/l.

In the glass, it shows a pale lemon yellow with fine bubbles. The nose offers a fascinating tension: aromas of beeswax and dried mango transition into lemon, quince, almond-like brioche, and subtle smoke. On the palate, it is creamy yet salty-mineral, with present fruit, peppery spice, and a very long, vibrant finish.
