Champagne Gosset

Maison Gosset, founded in 1584, can claim to be the oldest wine estate in Champagne. Over 16 generations, traditional winemaking craftsmanship has been lovingly passed down. The Maison’s credo is: ‘At Gosset, the focus is first and foremost on winemaking; the bubbles merely contribute to the beauty of the wine.’

The unique Gosset style is defined by distinctive mineral freshness, revealing fascinating complexity on the palate. Careful handcraft and the traditional method of bottle fermentation help create Champagnes of exceptional finesse and complexity.

Gosset Champagnes undergo bottle ageing ranging from at least three years to an impressive more than ten years. These noble bottles rest in more than 1.7 kilometres of cellars carved deep into the chalk beneath the estate. Gosset uses the antique bottle shape from 1760, which has become the unmistakable hallmark of the Champagne house. This elegant bottle is adorned with a neck label known as a ‘necklace medallion’. It is the only label of its kind in Champagne, making Gosset Champagne instantly recognisable.

Origin in Focus

Champagne

Champagne in north-eastern France is the home of the world’s most famous sparkling wine. The cool climate, limestone and chalk soils, and a long tradition of bottle fermentation shape its unmistakable style: tension, finesse and characteristic minerality. The main grape varieties are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier.
