Château Trotanoy 2018

Château Trotanoy, owned by the Moueix family, is one of Pomerol’s mythical estates and lies on the famous plateau where heavy, iron-rich clay soils meet gravelly sections. This rare terroir, difficult to work and extremely low-yielding, favours powerful, dense and at the same time exceptionally elegant Merlot wines.

Trotanoy is renowned for its depth, dark fruit, mineral tension, fine spice and a distinctive yet perfectly integrated tannin structure. Vinification is carried out with the utmost precision and restraint to preserve the pure expression of the terroir. The wines are among the longest-lived and most complex Pomerols – monumental, characterful and with impressive ageing potential.

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
