2018

Premier Grand Cru Classé

Château Troplong Mondot
France | Bordeaux | Saint-Emilion
Lisa Perrotti-Brown for Robert Parker

The Troplong Mondot 2016 is a deep garnet-violet colour. After some coaxing and a slow swirl of the glass, the wine is like an awakening giant, unfolding a huge bouquet of preserved plums, blueberry pie and sour cherries with gentle hints of violets, star anise, fruit cake and cast iron pans. The concentrated, full-bodied palate has an impressive purity and brightness of fruit, which blends with more mature elements and is supported by firm, velvety tannins. A wine that is not only delicious, but also very interesting!
