Lisa Perrotti-Brown for Robert Parker
The Troplong Mondot 2016, the wine is a little closed at first but soon unfolds, revealing more and more aromas of warm blackberries, wild blueberries and liquorice, as well as hints of smoked meat, black olives, pencil shavings and truffles. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied, packed with black fruits that unfold into an earthy firework with a soft, velvety texture of ripe, rounded tannins. It finishes with spectacular freshness and many layers.
