Description

New Zealand / Marlborough / Waihopai Valley

At the foot of New Zealand's mighty Southern Alps, on ancient river terraces, lies the Little Beauty vineyard. Stony soils and cooling winds from the nearby ocean characterise the elegant yet expressive aromas of this single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc Little Beauty Limited Edition. As the name suggests, production is very limited. The sustainably managed Sauvignon Blanc grapes for this characterful wine grow on only two terraces within one plot. Winemaker Evelyn Fraser has received numerous awards for her wine and was honoured as Winemaker of the Year 2022. In Germany, Little Beauty is still an insider tip and only available through Collectors Wine World.

Origin in Focus

Marlborough

Marlborough, at the northern tip of New Zealand’s South Island, is the vibrant heart of the country’s wine scene and is world-famous for aromatic, crystal-clear white wines. The region is shaped by an exceptional combination of intense sunshine, cool nights and constant sea breezes, allowing grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. On the stony old river terraces of the Wairau and Waihopai Valleys, wines are produced with brilliant fruit, lively acidity and unmistakable precision.

Marlborough is not only known for iconic Sauvignon Blanc, but also for elegant Rieslings, fragrant Gewürztraminer, precise Pinot Gris and increasingly refined cool-climate Pinot Noirs. The diversity of soils – from gravel and sand to clay-rich subsoils and pockets of limestone and loess – creates an impressive range of styles.

Today, Marlborough is regarded as one of the world’s most dynamic cool-climate wine regions: modern, close to nature, innovative and marked by a clear, unmistakable signature that excites both connoisseurs and casual wine lovers.
