Description

France / Bordeaux / Médoc / Margaux

The vineyards of Château Lascombes cover 112 hectares and are located in the Margaux appellation on the banks of the Gironde river. With a total vineyard area of 84 hectares, it is one of the largest Crus Classé estates. The vineyards are planted with the classic grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The scattered plots of Château Lascombes lie on a mosaic of soil types, producing a remarkably complex and balanced wine. From the 17th century to the present day, ten generations of owners have followed one another. The oldest known owner was the Chevalier de Lascombes, who gave the estate its name and after whom the second wine was named.

Château Lascombes

Château Lascombes, 2ème Grand Cru Classé from 1855, is one of the most distinctive estates of the Margaux appellation. Its large terroir combines three soil types – deep gravel rises, clay-limestone soils and clay parcels – offering exceptional diversity and ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. This mix produces wines of impressive density, dark fruit, structured yet supple tannins and typical Margaux elegance. Following extensive modernisation in both vineyard and cellar, Lascombes now shows clear precision, intense aromatics and a powerful yet harmonious style. The estate is among the appellation’s most reliable and characterful crus.

Bordeaux

Origin in Focus

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
