Description

France / Champagne

In an endeavor to authentically express the diversity of its terroir, this champagne is produced without dosage from the perfect balance of Champagne grape varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Each bottle is traditionally riddeld by hand, and the fine effervescence is attributed to the cool cellar temperature of the Champagne house Pol Roger. The cellar labyrinth lies 33 meters below street level, making it deeper and cooler than all other Champagne cellars. For five generations, the Champagne house Pol Roger has adhered to the tradition of using only the best grapes from the very best Grand Cru sites. Pol Roger is one of the most important producers in Champagne and is still family-owned, making it one of the last such businesses.

Champagne Pol Roger

This historic Champagne house from Épernay stands for a classically elegant style with a particular connection to the British market. The cuvées are based on the three grape varieties Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, complemented by a high proportion of reserve wines. Fine, persistent perlage, cool citrus and stone-fruit notes, aromas of brioche and nuts, and perfectly integrated acidity are characteristic. The wines age on the lees significantly longer than legally required, promoting creaminess, depth and ageing potential. Alongside the balanced Brut Réserve, the house impresses with vintage Champagnes and a prestige cuvée in a powerful yet elegant style, ideal with food and for special occasions. For a premium online shop, these Champagnes stand for reliable top quality, understated presentation and great drinking pleasure – from aperitif to festive menu.

Origin in Focus

Champagne

Champagne in north-eastern France is the home of the world’s most famous sparkling wine. The cool climate, limestone and chalk soils, and a long tradition of bottle fermentation shape its unmistakable style: tension, finesse and characteristic minerality. The main grape varieties are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier.
