The winery, which has been family-owned since it was founded in 1870, was particularly shaped by Miguel A. Torres. He is considered one of the most innovative and influential winemakers and has long been one of the legends of Spain. With the rediscovery of old, almost forgotten Catalan grape varieties, the winery wrote Spanish wine history. Two of these autochthonous grape varieties, Garró and Samsó, are used for the Grans Muralles single-vineyard wine. This prestigious vineyard lies at the foot of the ancient walls of a former Cistercian monastery. The exceptional winemaker presses the best wine in the region from the grapes of this single vineyard.
