The family-owned company has been in business since its founding in 1870. The winery, located in the municipality of Torres, was particularly influenced by Miguel A. Torres. He is considered one of the most innovative and influential winemakers and has long been one of Spain 's legends . With the rediscovery of old, almost forgotten Catalan grape varieties, the winery has written Spanish wine history. T wo of these indigenous grape varieties, Garró and Samsó , are used for the single vineyard wine Gran s Muralles . This prestigious vineyard is located at the foot of the ancient walls of a former Cistercian monastery. The exceptional winemaker produces the best wine in the region from the grapes of this single vineyard.
