ElixSea

Every bottle is an individual work of art, as marine life uses the bottle cages as shelter and decorates the individual bottles. In 2017, Hungarian diving instructor Gergő Borbély and his Spanish partner Mariona Alabau decided to combine their passion for the sea with their passion for wine and founded their ‘underwater winery’ ElixSea.

The underwater winery works with selected winegrowers. The grapes are carefully selected together with the winemakers; the wine is vinified, bottled and labelled at the estate. It then undergoes underwater ageing at a depth of 20 metres on the seabed. Storage underwater creates an artificial reef of calcareous skeletons, offering protection and new habitat for marine life.

Collectors Wine World has accompanied this project since the first vintage and holds the exclusivity for LegaSea for the German market. The wine can also be found in selected top restaurants across Germany.
