Château Smith Haut Lafitte 2021
Description
Description
Wine was already planted at Château Smith Haut Lafitte in the mid-14th century, making its vineyards among the oldest in Bordeaux. In 1990, Daniel and Florence Cathiard, the former top athletes of the French Olympic ski team, acquired the Château. One third of the vineyards were replanted, sustainable management was introduced, and a cooperage was built on the premises. With these massive investments, they transformed an underperforming winery into a highly acclaimed top producer of both red and white wines. For several years now, a high-class hotel and a two-Michelin-starred restaurant have complemented the estate. The winery has released limited edition labels for the 2015 vintage to celebrate its 650th anniversary.
