Description
Description
France / Bordeaux / Graves / Pessac-Léognan
Wine was already being planted at Château Smith Haut Lafitte in the mid-14th century, making its vineyards among the oldest in Bordeaux. In 1990, the former elite athlete couple from the French Olympic ski team acquired the Château. One-third of the vineyards were replanted, sustainable cultivation was introduced, and a cooperage was built on the premises. With these massive investments, they transformed an underperforming winery into a highly acclaimed top producer of both red and white wines. For several years now, a high-class hotel and a two-Michelin-starred restaurant have complemented the estate.
