Description
France / Bordeaux / Graves / Pessac-Léognan
Wine was already planted at Château Smith Haut Lafitte in the mid-14th century, making its vineyards among the oldest in Bordeaux. In 1990, the former top athlete couple of the French Olympic ski team acquired the Château. One third of the vineyards were replanted, sustainable management was introduced, and a cooperage was built on the premises. With these massive investments, they transformed a mediocre winery into a highly acclaimed top producer of both red and white wines. For several years now, a high-class hotel and a two-Michelin-starred restaurant have complemented the estate.
