The 2014 Smith-Haut-Lafitte has a fragrant bouquet of mulberries and strawberries that reveals cedar and subtle notes of undergrowth over time. There is something almost Musigny-like about it (written as a complement, by the way - why not compare it to Burgundy's greatest Grand Cru?) On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a soft and gentle attack. There is something very approachable about this Smith-Haut-Lafitte while also having the substance for a long bottle age .
