Description

France / Bordeaux / Médoc / Margaux

The two families Mähler-Besse and Sichel have, with exceptional vintages over decades, significantly contributed to the international renown of the winery. Today, Château Palmer is considered one of the leading Grand Crus of the famous Margaux appellation. The Alter Ego made its debut with the 1998 vintage. This was made possible by the purchase of an 8-hectare vineyard. Since the grapes of the Alter Ego come from different plots than those of the Palmer, and it is produced with a different blend, Château Palmer does not consider it a second wine, but rather an independent and unique wine. Château Palmer began converting to sustainable viticulture in 2008 and, despite the significant climatic challenges of recent years, impresses with wines of world-class quality.

Origin in Focus

Margaux

Margaux is the southernmost appellation of the Médoc and is considered one of Bordeaux’s most elegant wine regions. The gravel-rich soils provide ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon, which produces especially refined, fragrant and harmonious wines here. Margaux wines are known for their combination of finesse, floral aromatics and velvety structure. The region is also home to Château Margaux, one of the world’s most renowned estates.
