Château La Mission Haut-Brion

Château La Mission Haut Brion lies directly next to Haut Brion. This historic estate, named after the Lazarists who cultivated it in the 17th century, is now owned by the Dillon family, which acquired it in 1983.

Renovation and modernisation: Inspired by the ethos and dedication of the Lazarists, the Dillon family began renovating the château and modernising the cellar. Within 25 years, they succeeded in raising the quality of the wines to the point where they could once again be counted among the great Grand Cru Classé.

Top ratings: The wines of Château La Mission Haut Brion are appreciated worldwide and regularly achieve top ratings from renowned wine critics. Robert Parker particularly highlights the château: ‘In my private cellar, I have more bottles of La Mission Haut Brion than of any other wine in the world.’

Red and white wines: In addition to its famous red wines, the estate also produces small quantities of white wine, known for their elegance and freshness.

Château La Mission Haut Brion stands for excellent winemaking and tradition, and remains a highly respected name in the world of Grand Cru Classé wines.

Bordeaux

Origin in Focus

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
