Lisa Perrotti-Brown for Robert Parker
"The 2017 La Mission Haut-Brion, with its deep garnet-violet color, is initially somewhat reserved on the nose and slowly unfolds aromas of crushed blackcurrants, Black Forest gateau and sour cherries with hints of cigars, pencil shavings, charcoal and fertile clay. On the palate it is medium-bodied, with fantastic intensity , many mineral layers, a rock-solid line of firm, grainy tannins and a very long, energetic finish ."
