Lisa Perrotti-Brown for Robert Parker
The 2016 La Mission Haut-Brion is deep garnet purple in color and slowly unfolds aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, dark chocolate and candied violet with nuances of rock, tobacco leaf and forest floor as well as a hint of bergamot. On the palate it is medium-bodied and exquisitely elegant . It offers perfectly ripe, fine-grained tannins and plenty of freshness with complex aromatic fruit and a very long, iron-rich finish.
