Description

France / Bordeaux / Pauillac

One of the early owners of Château Duhart-Milon is said to have been "Sir Duhart", a privateer under Louis XV. Although the origins of the winery and its early owner may in truth be less distinctive, the surviving story of the privateer served as inspiration for the design of Duhart-Milon's labels. The winery fell into disrepair for a long time until it was finally bought and saved by the Rothschild family in 1962. Duhart-Milon expanded quickly as the family completed the vineyards by buying and exchanging plots. Major projects to recultivate the vineyards and renovate the château followed. A remarkable achievement spanning 40 years, Château Duhart-Milon has recaptured its former Grand Cru Classé status with an exceptional wine.
