Neal Martin for Robert Parker
The nose of the 2016 Château Branaire-Ducru is quite intense with black fruits streaked with pencil shavings and a hint of tobacco. The style is classic, undeniably well defined and full of character. On the palate it is structured and masculine, with a firm draw, spicier than its peers, with black pepper complementing the black fruits, tobacco and smoke on the structured finish. With great length, very persistent in the mouth.
