Frühburgunder R 2023
Description
Description
The traditional Rudolf Fürst Winery in Bürgstadt (founded in 1638) has long established itself as a leading Burgundy producer – from Spätburgunder to Chardonnay. The grapes for the Astheimer Chardonnay grow on shell limestone in Astheim, a cool limestone site right next to the Escherndorfer Lumpp. The vines were planted by the winery itself and originate from Burgundian clonal material.
A charismatic and expressive Frühburgunder, whose rare grape variety and limited yields make it particularly exclusive. In the glass, this "R" displays dense aromas of ripe blackberries, sour cherries, a delicate smoky note, as well as hints of dark chocolate and herbal spice. On the palate, it presents itself as complex, elegant, and at the same time captivating, with velvety tannins and balanced freshness that give it length and structure. A true delight for lovers of special Burgundies.
