Pinot Blanc Bürgstadter Berg Erste Lage 2023
Description
Description
The traditional Rudolf Fürst winery in Bürgstadt (founded 1638) has long established itself as a leading Burgundy producer – from Pinot Noir to Chardonnay. The grapes for the Astheimer Chardonnay grow on shell limestone in Astheim, a cool limestone site right next to the Escherndorfer Lumpp. The vines were planted by the winery itself and originate from Burgundian clonal material.
The 2023 Weißburgunder Bürgstadter Berg Erste Lage presents itself as an expressive, clear Burgundy with exciting reduction: fine notes of flint, gunflint, and green quince rise to the nose. On the palate, it convinces with lively acidity, silky texture, salty minerality, and fine-grained tannin—tight, racy, and crystal-clear with good depth and elegance.
