Château Trotte Vieille 2015
Description
Description
Trotte Vieille is one of the oldest wineries in Saint-Émilion and has the oldest vines in Bordeaux. Some of them date back to before the phylloxera plague and are thus more than 140 years old. Furthermore, Trotte Vieille is probably the Château with the most eccentric name. According to legend, it goes back to an old lady who lived on the estate several hundred years ago. This lady was very interested in the goings-on in the city of Bordeaux and used to go to the nearby stagecoach stop to hear the latest gossip. As the lady hurried to the coaches daily, the inhabitants of Saint-Émilion called her "la trotte vieille", "the trotting old woman".
