Neal Martin for Robert Parker
The 2014 Trotte Vieille has a fragrant bouquet, initially quite unobtrusive and building with fragrant red berry fruit, undergrowth and light cedar-like aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, fine freshness and a gentle, caressing finish that is silky smooth. This is a very refined Trotte Vieille, one that is far less rustic than in the past, the persistence on the finish suggests it should age in consummate style.
