Neal Martin for Robert Parker
The 2016 Brane-Cantenac has a beautifully defined, highly detailed bouquet with mineral-rich black fruits laced with cedar and graphite notes, and lives up to its nom de plume as a Pauillac from Margaux. The palate is simply the best I have ever tasted from this estate, showing presence, delicate tannins and a perfectly balanced freshness, with real intensity. The tension here is outstanding and the persistence is incredibly long.
