Lisa Perrotti-Brown for Robert Parker
The 2018 Beychevelle needs a little air to release classic aromas of cassis, plum jam, ripe blackberries, unsmoked cigars, tilled earth and cedar wood, plus a hint of pencil lead. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied and still very taut. Fine black fruits and earthy layers show up within a framework of firm, grainy tannins and just enough freshness. The finish is long and mineral .
