Château Beychevelle is considered one of the most beautiful châteaux in Bordeaux. In the midst of vineyards, surrounded by a wonderful park, it is located directly on the Gironde. The name derives from the term "baisse-voile" ("to lower the sails") and refers to the legend of the passing ships in honor of the lord of the house, the first Duke of Epernon, Jean-Louis Nogaret of Valetta sails lowered. The ship with the raptor's head and lowered sails still adorns the Beychevelle label. For Bordeaux lovers, Château Beychevelle is one of the best addresses for impressive Saint-Juliens full of finesse.
