The 2014 Beychevelle has a very pleasant, clean bouquet with aromas of dark cherry, blackcurrant and violet that make it almost more reminiscent of Margaux than Saint Julien. The palate is medium-bodied, slender in texture with light tannins. It is a light-footed Beychevelle with wonderful freshness and tension on the finish. This is a very well made wine by Philippe Blanc and his team.

The Château Beychevelle, a magnificent estate and considered one of the most beautiful châteaus in Bordeaux.

It is located in the renowned wine region of Saint-Julien in Bordeaux and is a symbol of elegance, tradition and first-class winemaking. The winery is picturesquely situated on the banks of the Gironde and has been a byword for exceptional wines and a rich history for centuries.

The name is derived from the term "baisse-voile" ("to lower the sails") and refers to the legend according to which passing ships lowered their sails in honor of the owner of the house, the first Duke of Epernon, Jean-Louis Nogaret of Valetta. The ship with the bird of prey's head and lowered sails still adorns the Beychevelle label. For Bordeaux lovers, Château Beychevelle is one of the best addresses for impressive, sophisticated Saint-Juliens.
